The Sacred Water Of Grief

The Sacred waters of grief winter immersion.

A women’s Grief Tending Journey. January 22nd-24th.

Unstone Grange, Crow Lane, Dronfield, S18 4AL

Winter reminds us of natures cycles of rest. Grief often follows a similar rhythm, moving us inward as we navigate the colder, quieter months. In the same way that nature slows down, grief invites us to pause, reflect, and honor what we've lost.

Winter is the pause that gives the sacred waters of grief space to flow.

Allowing a space of honoring our emotions and the significance of our loss.

This 3-day immersion is an invitation to reconnect with the lost art of tending to grief.

This isn't about fixing, overcoming or rushing through grief.

You won't be asked to β€œlet go” or find closure. There is no expectation that you will arrive at a particular place by the end of the weekend.

Instead, we create space to listen, feel, move, rest, remember, express and be witnessed.

It is a space to pause.

A space to listen to what lives beneath the surface.

A space to cultivate self-awareness, self-compassion and a deeper relationship with ourselves and our bodies.

To be human is to know loss. But in our culture, we have lost the essence of community tending. We were never meant to grieve alone.

There is something ancient in gathering together to grieve.

Across generations, women have gathered in community to share stories, mark endings, honour loss, create ritual and hold one another through life's transitions.

When we have a space where we can feel our grief alongside others, without judgement, without needing to explain it away β€” something begins to soften.

The loneliness of grief can begin to loosen.

We remember that we belong.

When we tend to the waters of grief, something shifts. The heart begins to soften. We discover we can hold the love and the loss. We remember what it means to be fully human.

This immersion takes us on a journey with grief. Connecting through the body, the mind and heart.

We will connect with grief through the elements of (Earth, Water, Air and Fire) through somatically orientated practice we being to recognize that grief lives in the tension, the tightness, the breath. Through movement we can begin meet these layers with curiosity. When we bring in ritual practices it serves as a symbolic structure of experiencing our loss and bringing a sense of interconnectedness in times of grief sharing stories, creative practices are ways for us to honor grief and loss.

Who is it for?

This is for women who have felt the heaviness of grief and no longer want to sit with the loneliness. All grief is welcome. Whether you are with personal loss, grieving the end of a significant relationship, the pain of divorce, separation, children leaving home, or the breakdown of a good friendship.  Healing from past wounds, grieving different parts of yourself, impacted by the world or local events, or acknowledging the pain of those who went before still moving in your family or community.

To tend to grief through the body, the elements, ritual, movement, nature and community.

To rest.
To remember that grief doesn't have to be carried alone.

A little bit about me.

Hello i am many things.

I am a motherless daughter and a mother of three.

Two of my children are here on this earth with me, and one was born sleeping.

I am also a doggie mum to my gorgeous chunky black Labrador, Max. πŸ–€

I have a deep love for Nature, her rhythms and cycles, and the way she can mirror our own inner journeys β€” especially when it comes to grief.

I love to dance. I love to move my body. And over the years, movement has become one of the ways I have learnt to meet what lives within me β€” the sadness, the anger, the tenderness, the joy, the aliveness and everything in between.

My own relationship with grief has shaped the way I see the world and my offerings.

I feel grief isn't something we simply move on from. It can change shape. It can move through the body. It can live in our breath, our hearts, our tissues, our memories and our relationships. Sometimes it asks us to slow down. Sometimes it asks us to move. Sometimes it asks us simply to sit beside what hurts.

This is part of why I created The Sacred Waters of Grief.

I believe we have lost something important in our modern culture β€” the art of tending to grief together.

We are often encouraged to carry on, be strong, keep busy and find closure. Yet grief has its own rhythm. Like Nature, it moves in cycles. There are seasons of stillness, seasons of tears, seasons of anger, seasons of remembering and, sometimes, unexpected moments of joy.

I wanted to create a space where we don't have to rush any of this.

My work centers around guiding women beyond survival and towards a deeper relationship with their bodies, their nervous systems, their emotions and themselves.

I am trained in somatics, trauma resolution, relational healing, parts work and grief tending. I work with women both 1:1 through somatic therapy and within women's group spaces.

It would be an honour to walk alongside you for these three days β€” not to fix your grief, but to create space for you to tend to it.
