Women’s Somatic Grief tending circles

May there be such a oneness between us that when one weeps the other tastes salt
— KAHLIL GIBRAN

What is grief tending?

Grief is always, in some way accompanying us. Grief is our communal bond, yet so many people speak of grief and loneliness. We have lost the essence of community and grief rituals.  When our grief cannot be spoken, it falls into the shadow and re-arises in the body as symptoms.

Grief tending and ritual provides us with the elements to help transform whatever it is we are carrying, weather that’s fear, grief, anger, shame. When women gather in community to tend grief the river of sorrow slows down. It slows enough for us to feel it and that is when the healing begins, both collectively and personally.

Grief tending is an opportunity to connect with your heart so that you your body, mind and soul can begin to feel, express, process and integrate that which has been to painful to feel on your own.

Grief tending circle elements include:

Somatics

Healing happens when we tend to the bodies whispers of grief.

We will connect with our body through somatic practices, embodied and nervous system awareness. Exploring how the body wants to move.

Connection

We come together in community to welcome our grief and connect with loss.

Ritual

‘‘Rituals have the potency to mend what has been torn and heal what has been neglected’’

We are creatures of ritual, but have long forgotten the ways in which ritual can heal our sorrows and grief.

Grief rituals play a crucial role in helping us navigate the emotional turmoil of loss. Rituals allow us to create space to express a wide range of emotions, from sadness and anger to love and gratitude. We will be exploring this through dance, writing practice, and nurturing earth ritual practices.

Rest and heart tending practices

‘‘In rest and reflection, a new inspiration can be found.’’

Rest provides us with nourishment and integration.

Other offering that i weave through might include:

Herbal tea’s or tinctures to support your heart and nervous system. Aromatherapy, Singing, sound, dance, creative practices, parts work, TFT tapping sequences, TRE (stress/trauma release exercises), Somatic movement practices. Writing practices.

I offer group grief circles as half day workshops a few times a year.
